Association Cup Tournament Results
Two Fruitridge teams entered the association cup, the FURY U-19
Girls team and REAL SANTA ROSA U-16 Boys team.
The
journey for the FURY began in Lemoore where the team tied their
first game and won the second two to advance the next week to
the sweet sixteen. In the second week of the state wide
tournament the Fury won the first game. However, their journey
ended at the quarter finals in Rippon California. Their last
game was very close. The FURY was ahead at the half 1 to 0. The
other team tied it up in the second half which sent them into
overtime. The golden goal overtime ended for the FURY in a 2 to
1 loss.
The journey for the REAL SANTA ROSA began in
Morgan Hill where the team won their first two games and lost
their last. The loss of the last game tied them with another
team on the point scale which created an anxiety for the rest of
the weekend. The tie breaker was determined by goal differential
and after all the games were played, the REAL SANTA ROSA came
out on top. The second weekend proved that the right team
advanced. The first game was a start of shut out weekend. They
won 3 to 0 against the Roosevelt Revolution. The second game
showed the true talent of the team when they won 2 to 0 against
a very tough West Valley United team.
The REAL SANTA
ROSA will play in the semifinals in Elk Grove at the Bartholomew
Sports Complex on Saturday March 26th at 2 pm against the Delta
