The Fruitridge soccer club welcomes all to the 2010 season. The start of the season will begin on September 11th. Our board is dedicated to providing quality service to our players, coaches and families and has worked diligently during the off season to provide a great experience for its members. In order for us to provide you with very good service, the following numbers have been listed to provide a resource for questions for emergencies. Please call the appropriate person for your situation.
Note: A few teams do not have coaches yet. Once the new/returning coach signs up they will receive their roster to make those calls.

All calls should be made at a decent time. Please call after work hours from (5:00 pm. – 9:30 pm.) Please be considerate.

Players, Families, Coaches and Assistant Coaches,
We are still accepting late registration packets for the 2010 season in some age groups. However, in order for us to provide uniforms, team rosters, field schedules, and coaches for our teams, it is necessary for us to end our registration. Therefore, our final deadline to register for the club is July 31st.

We are in particular need of U8 girls’ players. For other age groups, the teams will be filled on a first come first served basis. Please be aware that if you register at this time, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to place your player on a team. If an age group is closed, we are no longer accepting registrants.

Our registrars Theresa and Kathy will be out at Ethel I Baker field for the month of July every Wednesdays between 6:00 – 8:00 pm. We ask that any future registrations be taken during this time. Coaches/Asst/Board member are encouraged NOT to take any applications.

Note for next year Registration: Our deadline for signups will end much earlier next year, therefore, it is necessary for coaches to make sure their players are aware of this change. Please advise them to be prepared, otherwise players will find that they will not make the roster for the 2011 season. No exceptions!
 

Jennette, our uniforms coordinator, will need the names of new players from now until our carnival on August 14th. Some players may have to take the uniform that has been pre-ordered due to registration tardiness. When working with Jennette, please be polite as she is working her best to satisfy players, their parents, and coaches. She can be reached at 427-8242.
 

The Fruitridge annual carnival will be held on August 14th. The carnival symbolizes the opening of the new season. There will be food, games, team scrimmages, and raffles. Bring the family and have fun. Flyer

Congratulations to the Zorritas, the Founder’s Cup Tournament Champions. The Team played well during the championship game in Morgan Hill. The first half was a pretty even and very tough fought game by both sides. During the second half, there were changes made to the offence of the Zorritas which resulted in four scores all of which occurred during corner kicks, two of them coming from headers from Britney (one of the forwards). The defense really place well allowing the Fremont team to only 4 corner kicks and one shot on goal the whole game. The game ended 4-0.

As this year ends, the Zorritas will have played 45 games the last 2 years and have won 42 lost 2 and tied 1 with 36 shut outs and are looking forward to the start of the new soccer year.

The Southgate Recreation & Park District Board of Directors meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Florin Community History Center, 7245 Fletcher Farm Drive. The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and public attendance is welcomed and encouraged. Information on field assignments for the soccer clubs will be dispersed in March meeting.
